Welcome address of S.N. Katyrin, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation

I am pleased to send my greetings to the participants of the Central Russian Economic Forum on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

For the second time the Forum will assemble representatives of Central Russia’s regions, businessmen, investors and leading experts in Kursk region to exchange their experience in the development of regional economies, enhancement of the investment and business climate, to detect the key issues, and to come up with possible solutions.

The Forum is expected to contribute to the development of interregional relations and the expansion of Central Russia’s domestic market after Russia’s accession to the WTO.

The well-developed industrial and agricultural sectors, sufficient natural resources and skilled workforce in Central Russia’s regions create a fertile ground for investments and wider business cooperation.

Benefiting from its extensive branch network both in Russia and abroad, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation makes a point of contributing to these processes. We are consistently developing an investment facilitating infrastructure as an integral system of channeling investments in Russian regions, assuming the interaction of the regional authorities, territorial CCI branches and the CCI of Russia while implementing investment projects. Special attention is given to improving PPP mechanisms and implementing related projects.

Pursuant to their trilateral agreement on assistance to investment and innovation-facilitating activities, the Government of Kursk region, the CCI Russia and the CCI of Kursk region are working together to promote regional investment and innovation projects supporting them into implementation.

I hope that the second Central Russian Economic Forum will establish itself as one of the major economic events contributing to Central Russia’s development.

May I wish the participants and guests of the Forum every success and new achievements for the benefit of our Motherland!
