JSC Mikhailovsky GOK of METALLOINVEST Company is a leading domestic iron ore producer.
METALLOINVEST is the major global supplier of iron ore and hot briquetted iron (HBI); it is one of the largest iron ore producers in Russia and CIS. The Company is the second largest owner of proven iron ore reserves in the world accounting for 14.6 billion-tonne JORC compliant mineral resource.
Long-term development program that has been effectively implemented in the JSC Mikhailovsky GOK by METALLOINVEST is designed to boost efficiency of production, implement innovations and launch new products.
Full underway is the major large-scale investment project of Pellet Plant 3 construction incl. all necessary process and infrastructure facilities. Main objective of the project is a targeted 1.5-fold increase of pellet output by the JSC Mikhailovsky GOK which is equal to 5 million tonnes of iron ore pellets per year.
METALLOINVEST corporate strategy includes a wide range of other investment projects to be implemented in the JSC Mikhailovsky GOK.
Corporate social responsibility activities based on the trilateral socioeconomic collaboration between the Company and municipal and regional authorities of Zheleznogorsk and Kursk, respectively are aimed at promotion of sustained development of local community. Kursk was the first region to launch this corporate initiative of METALLOINVEST. An ice rink, a branch of regional cancer detection centre were built and opened in Zheleznogorsk; two nursery schools were overhauled and a new one is scheduled to be built within the framework of the trilateral collaboration. Moreover the Company sponsors restoration activities in authentic culture and historic site of Korennaya Pustyn'; supports regional basketball club Dynamo. METALLOINVEST runs multiple initiatives to promote beginning teachers and doctors, support veterans; it patronizes regional orphan asylums, sponsors health, education and sports institutions.

The PIRPANEL product is notable for low thermal conductivity, low density, moisture impenetrability, durability and has higher tensile strength. One another important quality is fire-resistance: the expended polyisocianurate does not support combustion and is damped without assistance.
A successful combination of excellent indicators of fire safety with low thermal conductivity and mechanical stability mark out the PIRPANEL product as a material best suited to manufacture refrigerating and freezing chambers, shock freezing chambers, automobile refrigerators and railroad refrigerators, cold-storage for warehouses and terminals as well as for vegetable- and fruit-storages, food depots which require to maintain low temperatures.
