Forum
On July 1-2, 2016, Kursk region will host the 5th CENTRAL RUSSIAN ECONOMIC FORUM.
For a short period of time, the Forum has become a landmark event in the economic and political life of Central Russia’s regions highlighting the most topical development issues for Central Russia and formulating the key priorities of the future economic policy. Discussions of home market development, revival of human capital, state regulation and other issues raised at the Forum are in the limelight of the whole business community and influence state decision making. The Forum clearly demonstrates the interest of the power authorities and business elites in the development of the regional economy, outlines the conditions, preferences and requirements for investors.
This year, the Central Russia Economic Forum theme is “ECONOMY IN THE INTEREST OF NEW GENERATIONS”.
In 2016, Russia plunged into a structural economic crisis. In many respects, the gravity of the crisis arises from the undervaluation of strategic planning. In recent years, few economic entities formulated plans for longer than five years. The economic development vector was mainly aimed at immediate goals. Long-term objectives were actually no more than a signboard, being changed every year: doubling the gross domestic product today, urgent development of nanotechnologies tomorrow, building an import substitution system next day. To successfully overcome the crisis and to ensure sustainable development, Russia needs a single well-balanced system of long-term objectives and instruments to achieve them aimed at building the economic foundation for Russia’s future prosperity.
The Forum will revolve around strategy, economic development strategy of the country and its regions – primarily aimed at ensuring a decent life for future generations.
- What kind of life will our grandchildren have?
- What will they inherit from us?
- What economic welfare can we accumulate for them?
- Where and for what objectives will they work?
- What they will be like?
- And whether they will live at all?
There is a strong reason for choosing the "Pioneer" painting by well-known artist Aleksandr Deyneka exhibited in the Kursk Art Gallery as a symbol for the CEF 2016 Forum. While making strategic decisions, one should remember our children whose destiny is to live in a country we build.
