Welcome address of Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov to the participants of the Central Russian Economic Forum

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to welcome the participants, hosts and guests of the 5th Central Russian Economic Forum both personally and on behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

Being a reputable intellectual venue, the Central Russian Economic Forum provides opportunities to discuss the key aspects of the regional economic development process, to search for effective economical advancement initiatives.

The Forum discussions are expected to give rise to constructive solutions to the current problems of Russian industries, so as to lay a foundation to the future economy of Russia.

Pursuant to the Federal Law on Industrial Policy in the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is making extensive efforts aimed at substituting imports, creating new high-tech industries, upgrading existing production facilities, which will improve Russia’s economic security and defensive capacity. Amidst the sanctions which put restrictions on free competition, technology and capital flows, agreements with Russian regions (including Kursk region) implemented by the Ministry are viewed as potentially effective instruments for the development and support of domestic businesses.
