Welcome speech of Minister of Health of the Russian Federation V.I. Skvortsova to the participants of the Central Russian Economic Forum

Dear colleagues,

It is my pleasure to welcome the participants and organizers of the 5th Central Russian Economic Forum on behalf of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation!

Every year, the Central Russian Economic Forum highlights most topical development issues that are vital for the future of Russia. This year, the Forum theme is “Economy in the interest of new generations”.

The Forum agenda covers a wide range of issues related to ensuring high living standards, creating a universal preventive healthcare environment, forming a healthy lifestyle. The Forum focuses on measures to increase life expectancy and to reduce mortality from infectious diseases as one of its top priorities. Many issues are complex and handling them requires joint efforts of public authoriities, local governments and non-governmental organizations.

The relevance of the 5th Central Russian Economic Forum arises from opportunities for an open and meaningful exchange of opinions on today’s most topical social and economic problems. I am convinced that the Forum discussions willl give rise to highly effective solutions to these problems.

The proposals and initiatives the Forum will generate will certainly make a substantial contribution to the development of essential programs and events to ensure decent living standards for people.
