Delegation from Germany to take part in Russia's CEF 2016 Forum
The delegation includes Rudiger Hinze (Counselor for economic affairs to the government of Spree-Neisse), Silke Schwabe (head of the department for investment and innovations, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cottbus), Gerhard Hanel (Managing Director, Company for Reconstruction of Old Buildings of Spremberg GmbH), Petra Lehmann (Deputy Managing Director, Company for Reconstruction of Old Buildings of Spremberg GmbH), the press-service of the government of Kursk region informed.
Their meeting with heads of departments of the regional government, the Investment Attraction Agency of Kursk region, Kursk universities, businesses addressed further development of cooperation between our region and the Spree-Neisse region, establishment of twin-city relations between Zheleznogorsk and Spremberg, establishment of a German-Russian economic cooperation center in Kursk region and the federated state of Brandenburg.
Besides, the visitors from Germany conducted negotiations with the government of Zheleznogorsk city as well as with the top executives of MATIS and GOTEK: the German companies are interested in resuming supplies of their products to Kursk partners and in setting up joint ventures.
The German party confirmed its interest in continuing close cooperation with Kursk region. A representative delegation of Spree-Neisse region is expected to participate in the 5th Central Russian Economic Forum and the 2016 Kursk Korenskaya Fair. The government of Spremberg city intends to conduct a presentation of creating a German-Russian economic cooperation center at the Forum and to arrange an exposition of businesses of the Spree-Neisse region at the Fair. Also, the parties will work towards creating opportunities for students of Kursk higher education institutions to undergo training in Germany’s Schwarze Pumpe industrial park with the aim of training specialists for the German-Russian center. Today, students of Kursk region’s higher education institutions regularly undergo practical training in Germany.
“Many German companies wish to cooperate with Kursk region. This, however, requires consistent effort, step-by-step progress,” Rudiger Hinze, a representative of the Spree-Neisse-Bober Euroregion, commented. This means strong prospects for the Kursk-Germany relationship, as evidenced by a number of several business meetings and negotiations to be held in the near future.
On March 21-24, representatives of the Ernst von Bergmann group of clinics will visit Kursk to discuss plans for further development of cooperation with the Kursk Medical College and Kursk State Medical University.
In late April 2016, a delegation of Kursk region will make a return visit to Germany on the occasion of the opening of a Memorial of Soviet Soldiers in Germany in which Vladimir Grinin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Federal Republic of Germany, is expected to participate. The Kursk region’s delegation will meet with the government of the federated state of Brandenburg. In addition, a Protocol on establishing twin-city relations between Zheleznogorsk and Spremberg is expected to be signed during the return visit.
