Today, Kursk region’s international contacts reach all countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States and more than 60 other foreign countries.
In 2011, external turnover of Kursk region increased 1.6-fold. Exports prevailed over imports and increased 1.8-fold year-on-year.
The profile of Kursk region’s export is as follows: ferrous ores and concentrates, petrochemical goods, mechanical engineering products, foodstuffs, rawhide, ferrous and non-ferrous metals and products, timber and woodwork, textiles and textile goods, footwear and other goods.
Kursk region benefits from the vigorous activity of joint ventures attracting foreign investments or established with European companies, such as the Russian-Czech group of enterprises Matis (marketing of automotive materiel produced in the Czech Republic and Russia), the Kursk branch of OJSC Sun InBev (beer production), CJSC KONTI-RUS (production of confectionery goods), IStochnik TOka Kurskiy LLC (production of storage cells), ETI NVA s inostrannymi investitsiyami LLC (production of low-voltage equipment).
Ivolga-Holding LLC (Kazakhstan) and Myllyn Paras Oy (Finland) are active in the agricultural sector of Kursk region.
Investments in Kursk region’s economy arrive from companies of Armenia, Belarus, Hungary, Vietnam, Germany, Gibraltar, Italy, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Panama, Poland, Serbia, Ukraine, Finland, the Czech Republic.
Foreign investors may apply for public support measures on equal terms with Russian investors.
